The main purpose of the GREENTECH program is to make a significant contribution to a low-carbon society and economy, as well as to strengthen resilience and adaptation to climate change. The overall concept for achieving this goal is to combine the knowledge and market potential of key players in the fields of factories of the future and energy-efficient products, and to deliver green and energy-efficient solutions to the global market in large volumes within a short period of time – thereby making a real change in the world. The main objective of the program is to contribute, through savings in production processes and greener products, to reducing CO2 emissions by more than 17 million tons, decreasing energy consumption by almost nine billion kWh, and reducing material consumption by approximately 800,000 tons. By including additional research organizations from the social sciences, we aim to strengthen the multidisciplinary approach of the program. The program is aligned with the S5 priority areas Factories of the Future and Smart Buildings and Home with a Wooden Chain. The program’s contribution to the principles of DNSH is reflected in production processes and products that reduce material and energy consumption, minimize waste generation, promote recycling, and extend product lifetimes.
