CFRP gears

In our latest study, gears were produced out of a dedicated in-house developed laminated carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composite, and tested on our gear testing rigs. Comparing to gears made out of commonly used plastic/composite materials, CFRP gears showed incredible performance. Employing the new composite material we managed to improve the gear service life for 6-times, when compared to PEEK gears, and even more comparing to other materials.
