Semenko P200PSJ – From Development to Practical Application

12.06.2026

At the LECAD laboratory, we have successfully developed the Semenko P200PSJ brush machine, designed to support the conservation of Kras habitats, and this week we delivered it to our project partner - Park Škocjanske jame

The brush machine was developed as part of the ZA KRAS 2 project: “Ensuring the appropriate use of grasslands and rocky slopes to preserve selected habitat types and species in the Kras Natura 2000 area” This is the second brush harvester of its kind in Slovenia, developed under the leadership of Dr. Ivan Demšar, designed for the efficient and gentle collection of native seed material in sensitive areas.

Main features of the Semenko P200PSJ machine:
- attachment to the tractor’s front hydraulics
- working width of 2 m
- central hydrostatic brush drive (powered by tractor hydraulics)
- adjustable rotation direction and speed for optimal performance
- compact design for working in confined karst terrain
- additional caster wheels for better terrain adaptation and easy maneuverability

By developing such solutions, we contribute to sustainable landscape management and the preservation of biodiversity in Natura 2000 areas.

Thank you to all partners for their excellent cooperation and the successful implementation of this innovation!
