LECAD at MIPRO 2026: Advancing HPC Knowledge & Collaboration

01.06.2026

We are proud to highlight last week participation of the LECAD Laboratory at MIPRO 2026 in Opatija, Croatia — a key regional event bringing together experts in AI, HPC, and digital transformation.

A rich program of conferences, keynote lectures, panels, workshops, tutorials, exhibitions, and networking events covered the latest developments in information, communication, and electronic technologies.

Our researchers Ivona Vasileska and Pavel Tomšič both contributed with presentations.

Ivona Vasileska presented “Performance and Portability of a Particle-in-Cell Code on Heterogeneous CPU–GPU Systems”, while Pavel Tomšič delivered “Educational Activities and Lessons Learned from the EuroCC 2 National Competence Center for Supercomputing in Slovenia”.

Together, these contributions highlighted advances in high-performance computing, as well as key achievements in skills development and the promotion of HPC expertise within the EuroCC 2 framework — emphasizing the importance of education in strengthening Europe’s digital and research ecosystem.

We were are also honored by the visit of Anders Dam Jensen, CEO of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU), who stopped by the NCC SLING exhibition booth. His visit highlights the strategic importance of National competence centres and their role in advancing Europe’s HPC and AI infrastructure ????????⚙️

???? MIPRO 2026 continues to provide an excellent platform for sharing knowledge, fostering partnerships, and shaping the future of AI and HPC in Europe.
