New LeCAD project: HPC TRAIN – European Traineeship Programme in Supercomputing
The LECAD Laboratory is participating in the new European project HPC TRAIN – The European HPC Professional Traineeship Programme, established by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking. The aim of the project is to strengthen Europe’s workforce in the field of supercomputing by introducing professional traineeships for young experts in industrial and non-academic environments.
The programme will enable participants to gain practical experience working on supercomputing-related projects and to develop essential technical and transferable skills. The consortium brings together 12 European partners, including Forschungszentrum Jülich (coordinator), Barcelona Supercomputing Center, IT4Innovations, University of Stuttgart, LuxProvide, University of Luxembourg, PRACE, CSC, INESC TEC, University of Galway, and the University of Ljubljana.
The project started in January 2026, will run for 48 months, and is funded through the Digital Europe Programme. Calls for traineeship applications will be published several times per year on the project website.
